DESCRIPTION: Circa 1970s divided back printed colour continental size post card, titled: ' ROSS
BRIDGE ', Central Tasmania, South-eastern Australia. Descriptive text printed on back reads: Built
in 1836 under orders from Governor Arthur. The bridge was designed by John Lee Archer and
shows the considerable talent of craftsmen of the day. Notable among the stonemasons was
Daniel Herbert who received a free pardon for his magnificent carvings.
