1850. Stampless envelope written from Bel Air dated ‘2nd Feb 1850’ addressed to France with framed ‘Souillac/Fe 4 1850’ hand-stamp with framed ‘Paid’ and ‘Crown/Mauritius’, endorsed ‘Ship 4d’ in black m/s, routed via Ireland and Great Britain with ‘Dunmore East’ hand-stamp and scroll ‘Ship Letter’ in black (Robertson S1) and hand-struck ‘Waterford/Ship Letter’ in green (Robertson S2) with Waterford green transit ‘My 10’ with London ‘May 13’ and boxed accountancy ‘Colonies/ & Art 13’ on face in red, French entry cachet and taxed ‘8’ in blue m/s with La Fleche receiver on reverse. An amazing cover from Souillac; the ship appears to have sheltered from a storm in the stuary of the River Suir with Dunmore East at the head, this cover has been struck by the Dunmore East Ship Letter and with the Waterfort Ship Letter on arrival up the estuary in Waterford. A unique item. Exhibition piece.

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
